1. What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is the science
of the body's own healing by self-balancing energy.
2. How does it work?
Acupuncture maintains the
flow of energy or "Qi" (chi) through your body.
To function, our bodies need a power supply or abundant
and free flowing Qi. This life force is invisible like electricity
and flows in a distribution network called meridians. Acupuncture
and other gentle energy based techniques can help you prevent
or reverse acute/chronic health conditions, especially those
aggravated or caused by stress.
3. Does it hurt?
Some clients feel a “mosquito bite”
sensation; others feel nothing.
4. Are there other methods that do not involve needles?
Yes, many options and alternatives are available.
Sheryl uses special techniques and tools made from wood,
metal, horn, and stone. She also includes magnets, colored
and far infrared light therapies, and a bio-energetic foot
detoxifying technique.
5. How do I check my Qi?
Check how you feel. Aches
and pains? Headaches or allergies? Cold or hot spots? Heartburn
or anxiety? Insomnia, depression or lethargy? If you have
symptoms, your body is asking for an energy tune-up.
6. I feel good, how could acupuncture help me?
Acupuncture
provides an energetic nudge to support and maintain balance
at your physical, emotional and mental levels. It helps
you stay in "your zone" during major life events
and changes such as: weddings, vacations, loss of loved
ones, and the day- to- day hurdles. It can also assist in
dental procedures, minor surgeries, changing of seasons
and new assignments by preparing you at the body, mind and
spirit level before the event and helps restore energetic
pathways following the event. Facial rejuvenation, or cosmetic
acupuncture, is a natural approach to help tone your face
and neck.
7. Does Acupuncture really work?
Yes, acupuncture
has been used successfully for centuries. Familiarity with
this ancient art/science is growing in the United States
as people get results. Many people have symptoms that many
be addressed separately in the western medical model, the
relationships of the same symptoms using the five-element
theory of acupuncture can give a client valuable insight
on the possible “root cause” and a path to return
their systems to balance and health. Sheryl has used Kirlian
photography to evaluate and monitor clients as more quantitative
evidence of the body’s ability to balance energetically.
Kirlian photography reveals the invisible energy field that
surrounds the body and is a tangible map of progress with
treatment.
8. What does the acupuncturist do?
Sheryl is an
energetic troubleshooter, checking various locations on
your body: abdomen, pulse, tongue and spots on energetic
pathways. Using physical results combined with signs and
symptoms, she develops a unique treatment plan for you and
then uses gentle meridian therapy tools, or colored light to encourage your energy to balance returning you
to "your zone".
9. What is a session like?
Every session is unique.
Sheryl respects the individual's potential and combines
acupuncture point stimulation with Shamballa, Reiki or Cranial
Sacral Therapy during the typical hour session. This enhances
the therapeutic effect and honors the client.
10. What is Sheryl Wookey's Philosophy?
Sheryl's
role is to help facilitate the process of your journey to
wellness, by empowering you where you are now. In youth,
our energy is abundant. As we move into adulthood, the energy
once used in development now deals with a constant challenge
to remain balanced, dealing with the stressors of day to
day living in the modern world. My role in facilitating
healing is to help balance your energy and help the body
relax. When relaxed, you are better able to focus energy
on healing. |
